Probably many of you are not familiar with the concept of Badi which is a lovely way that Swiss call a Strandbad. Strandbad is basically an open-air bathing place. It can be a swimming pool or a shore of a lake or a river. A big difference to a beach is that Badi is usually dominated by a nice green lawn, very inviting to sit on and sparing you the trouble of trying to get rid of all that sand.

Anyway, as soon as the spring kicks in, Swiss love to enjoy the sun and water at a Badi. I have always found it very interesting how recreation is often a factor that brings people closer to nature and wildlife. Even without a conscious intention.

Here I offer you a bunch of photos of the wild community at the local Badi.
